GNTO: Distinctions for Greece and Santorini at the Leisure Lifestyle Awards

ATHENS –

Greece has once again won significant awards at the annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards, organized by the leading American travel magazine “Global Traveler” of the publishing company FXExpress Publications, confirming that our country remains consistently one of the most popular European destinations in the American tourism market.

Specifically, in this year’s 13th edition of the awards, Greece emerged as the winner for the fourth consecutive year in the “Best Historical Attractions, International” category.

Santorini also took first place in the “Best Island in Europe” category for the twelfth consecutive time.

The Leisure Lifestyle Awards reward the best leisure trips around the world, with the winners emerging after an open survey conducted among the magazine’s readers. The survey for this year’s awards was conducted from September 20, 2024 to January 30, 2025 and covered 67 leisure, luxury and lifestyle travel categories.

Global Traveler’s nearly 550,000 readers are high-income earners, with 50% of them being business owners or senior executives.

The awards ceremony will take place on May 22 in Miami, while Greece will be represented by the head of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) North America Service, Konstantinos Charokopos.
