The first NYC Democratic mayoral primary debate will take place on Wednesday, June 4 hosted by NBC 4 New York/WNBC, Telemundo 47/WNJU and POLITICO New York.
The nine candidates that have qualified to participate, according to the NYC Campaign Finance Board, are (in alphabetical order): Adrienne Adams (Speaker of the NYC Council), Michael Blake, Andrew Cuomo (former NY Governor), Brad Lander (NYC Comptroller), Zohran Mamdani (NYS Assembly Member), Zellnor Myrie (NYS Senator), Jessica Ramos (NYS Senator), Scott Stringer (former NYC Comptroller) and Whitney Tilson.
The debate will be held from WNBC’s 30 Rockefeller Center studios and broadcasted live beginning at 7 p.m. on the platforms of NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47. There won’t be an audience.
Mayor Eric Adams will not participate in the Democratic primary debate, because he is running in this election as an independent.
An Emerson College Polling / PIX11/ The Hill survey finds that, as of May 28, Andrew Cuomo is leading NYC’s Democratic mayoral primary with 35 % support, followed by Zohran Mamdani at 23 %.
The next mayoral debate will be at 7 p.m. on June 12 and it will only be for the leading contenders in the race.
