Seven students who graduated from area schools were recognized in an emotion–filled ceremony at the 78th Commencement on June 7th at Saint Basil Academy. Two students graduated from High School, one from 8th grade, one from elementary school, two from St. Basil’s home school program and two from kindergarten.

“[Here at St. Basil’s] you have learned what it is to love and to be loved; to forgive and to be forgiven, to be kind and to receive kindness. These are the most valuable lessons of all, for they are the lessons that are eternal”, stressed Archbishop Elpidophoros.

Greetings were also offered by Dr. Steven Gounardes, Board of Trustees President; Consul General of Greece, Iphigenia Kanara; Eleni Constantinides, Philoptochos of NJ President; and Eliud Suarez, a Saint Basil Alumnus.

Despina Koulianos, Board of Trustees Secretary, emceed the ceremony.

“It is a joyful celebration of the success of our children and their life journeys. We are so very proud of each and every one of them, whether a high school graduate or middle school or kindergarten. Each young person is celebrated”, noted Fr. Constantine Sitaras, St. Basil’s Executive Director.
