IELKA: Supermarket product prices 0.24 pct down in July

Product prices in supermarkets in July 2025 appear reduced by 0.24% compared to June 2025. At the same time, there has been a marginal increase of 0.56% in prices over the rolling 12-month period (8/2024–7/2025) compared to the previous year. These conclusions come from a monthly survey by the Institute of Retail Consumer Goods Research (IELKA), conducted exclusively in the channel of major supermarket chains.

More specifically, annual inflation in supermarket chains is around +1.84% in July 2025 compared to July 2024 (similar to the 1.78% inflation recorded in June 2025). Prices in July 2025 compared to the previous month, June 2025, show a slight decrease of -0.24%. Overall, the rolling 12-month period (July 2024–June 2025) recorded a marginal increase of +0.56%.

In general, the first seven months of 2025 showed mild inflationary pressures (1.23%), which were mainly attributed to international increases in raw materials (cocoa, meat, coffee).
