ATHENS –

American Airlines is expanding its presence in Greece, launching its fifth daily flight to Athens with a new connection from Dallas-Fort Worth, starting May 21, 2026.

In 2025, American Airlines inaugurated a new route connecting Athens (ATH) with Charlotte (CLT). This route will return next year, along with flights to Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK), and Philadelphia (PHL).

“Passenger demand for flights to and from cities with rich cultural identities continues to grow. We are seeing more and more customers flocking to destinations where they can travel back in time, exploring history and culture in a way that surpasses any previous experience,” said Vice President – International and Inflight Dining Operations José A. Freig. “With this route, our passengers in Athens will also have access to our largest hub in the United States, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), with connections to more than 225 destinations in the U.S. and beyond,” he added.

“The connection of Athens from next summer with Dallas/Fort Worth, American Airlines’ largest hub in the United States, is another excellent development for the connectivity of the Greek capital with the American market,” said Director of Communications & Marketing at Athens International Airport Ioanna Papadopoulou.
