The Ronald Mc-Donald House New York (RMHNY) Greek Division’s 29th Annual Niki Sideris Annual Walk and Spring Festival was held on May 11 both in person and virtually for those who could not attend.  Greek Americans of all ages participated in the spirit of unity, love and compassion for children fighting pediatric cancer.

Founded by Niki Sideris of blessed memory and aiming to offer a loving “home-away-from-home” to children from Greece and Cyprus, as well as Greek-Americans and children from all 50 states, the Greek Division of RMHNY has become a vital lifeline to so many families seeking the crucial medical treatment for their children.

The event is a fun, family-friendly celebration of Greek heritage and philanthropy.

Fr. Chrysostomos Gilbert, Dean of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan, led the opening prayer. Little Andriana Pardalis sang the Greek National Anthem and Kyriaki Kerrigan-Skylas sang the American Anthem.

Greek Division Chairman Spiros Maliagros, President of TIG Advisors, welcomed the participants and the volunteers and thanked them for making this year’s event a great success.

“You make all the difference and we couldn’t help our families without your dedication! Thank you for all that you do towards Greek Division’s Mission and the families we serve”, noted Spiridoula Katechis, the Greek Division’s Coordinator, thanking also Tina Vouyiouklis – Plagos for chairing the 2024 Walk and Spring Festival.

Following the Walk, participants enjoyed refreshments and a performance of traditional Greek dancing by Kalymnos Dance Troupe, the Greek American Folklore Society and St. Nicholas G.O. Church Dance Troupe from Newburgh, NY.
