CHERRY HILL, NJ –
The St. Thomas Hellenic School gathered to celebrate the 84th anniversary of ‘OXI’ Day, October 28, 1940 at the Danielle Kousoulis Cultural Center. Archimandrite Fr. Avgoustinos Psomas, parish proistamenos, and School Principal Margarita Zografos-Vrettos welcomed the 106 students and their families and spoke of the resilience and bravery that echoed across Greece 84 years ago to this very day.
The songs, poems, and readings that the students presented were a tribute to our forefathers some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice.
The event, an inspiration to all in attendance to instill values, faith, and courage in the youth is also a testament to the unwavering dedication of the school’s staff and the support of the community, showcasing the school’s commitment to preserving Greek heritage and instilling cultural pride in the younger generation.
