NEW YORK, NY –

The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy announced the 3rd Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium, themed “Building the Future of Global Hellenism” scheduled to take place in Athens from June 18 to June 25.

The Symposium aims to establish a permanent channel of communication and cooperation between the youth of the Omogenia and the metropolitan center in Greece.

The Symposium is open to young men and women, aged 18-25, who will participate as active speakers (panelists) during the sessions and have the opportunity to participate in a specially designed hospitality program tailored for this purpose.

A number of participants who were designated as Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors during the 2nd Conference [held last November] will also take part in the proceedings, presenting their initiatives and activities.

This year’s panelists will, in turn, be designated as Greek Youth Diaspora Ambassadors and will undertake initiatives and actions promoting and highlighting the role and presence of the Greek Diaspora worldwide.

The Conference proceedings will be structured around the following thematic areas: Greek Identity and Global Hellenism / Greek Language, Education, and Cultural Continuity /Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Connectivity / Culture, Tradition, and Creativity / Youth and Social Cohesion / Youth, Leadership, and Participation in Shaping the Future

According to the announcement, priority will be given to candidates who have not participated in hospitality programs in the past and are not enrolled in other such programs during the current year. Emphasis will also be placed on strengthening ties with youth of at least second‑generation Greek descent. Proficiency in the Greek language will be considered an asset; however, interpretation to/from English will be provided.

Once selected, the application is considered a binding commitment to participate.

Interested applicants are requested to submit their contact information (telephone number and email address), a short CV, a brief statement indicating initial interest in a specific thematic area and a valid ID or passport details (for hospitality program arrangements)

Candidates are invited to submit their applications along with the necessary documentation (CV, Statement of Interest, etc.) to the email address [email protected] no later than April 15, 2026.
