The Metropolis of Boston Greek Dance Ministry officially began its 2026–2027 year on September 10, at the Cathedral Center in Brookline, welcoming nearly 50 young dancers, ages 7 and up, for an exciting evening of Greek dance, fellowship, and tradition.

The Metropolis also welcomed Maria Bregianos-Liakopoulos and Thanasi Teodosiadis as Co-Directors of the Greek Dance Ministry this year.  Under their leadership, the ministry looks forward to building upon its longstanding tradition while creating new opportunities for children, young adults, and adults throughout the Metropolis to connect with their Hellenic heritage through Greek dance.

Many familiar faces, as well as, first-time dancers came together for the opening gathering.

The excitement continues on Tuesday, September 15, with the start of the Young Adult Advanced Class for ages 16–25, followed by the Metropolis’ Adult Dance Class for ages 25 and over.

According to a Metropolis announcement, the Greek Dance Ministry seeks to provide more than dance instruction. Through each class, participants have the opportunity to develop friendships, experience fellowship, and deepen their appreciation for Greek culture, music, and traditions.

Registration is still open, and new dancers are welcome to join the ministry throughout the beginning of the program year.

“It was wonderful to welcome back our returning dancers and to see so many new families joining the program”, the ministry coordinators said, calling everyone to stay tuned as the Metropolis of Boston Greek Dance Ministry continues to grow, bringing together dancers of all ages and strengthening Greek dance and cultural traditions throughout our Metropolis.
