LOS ANGELES, CA –
A tribute to Kostis Palamas, the renowned poet and lyricist of the original Olympic Hymn, by Professor Theodore Mallias of the University of Patras, will be held at the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Basil P. Caloyeras Center for Modern Greek Studies, University Hall 3800 (3rd floor), in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 13, at 4pm.
Professor Mallias will present his book album “Olympism – Olympic Hymn- Kostis Palamas- on the significance of the Olympic Hymn that was adopted in 1896 for the first modern Olympic Games in Athens.
The presentation will be in Greek with audiovisual material in Greek and English.
The event is co-hosted by the Greek Heritage Society of Southern California and the Hellenic Library of Southern California.
