WASHINGTON, DC –
AHI President Nick Larigakis met with U.S. Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), a prominent member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a candidate to be the next Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, if the Republican Party maintains control of the House of Representatives, on October 30. AHI policy consultant Elias Gerasoulis was also present.
President Larigakis provided an informational briefing to Representative Issa on issues pertaining to U.S.-Greece, U.S.-Republic of Cyprus relations, as well as Turkey’s malign activities in the region.
According to a press note from AHI, the meeting’s timing had been particularly opportune, happening on the same day of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides’ historic trip to meet President Biden at the White House.
President Larigakis communicated a number of policy recommendations and initiatives for Representative Issa’s consideration.
“We appreciated the opportunity to have a fruitful discussion and dialogue with Representative Issa on U.S. policy towards the Eastern Mediterranean. We are grateful to have had this meeting with Representative Issa to relay our insights and perspective, and look forward to working with him and his office actively”, said AHI President Larigakis.
