More than 100 people joined on November 22 at the Annunciation Cathedral Center in Brookline, MA to assemble 500 full thanksgiving meal kits for families in need throughout Greater Boston and New England.

Led by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, many volunteers, young and old alike, joined parishioners of the St. Athanasius the Great Church of Arlington who, for over 25 years, have partnered with the Home for Little Wanderers to offer a Thanksgiving meal drive. Over the course of several hours, volunteers from many communities worked together to offer this labor of love impacting thousands this Thanksgiving season.

In total, 500 packages of complete thanksgiving meals were donated, assembled and distributed to families in need from the greater Boston area, Walpole, Plymouth and New Hampshire.  The dinner kits for families included a frozen turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, apple cider, pies and produce, such potatoes, apples, onions, and celery.

St. Athanasius the Great parish has donated turkeys and coordinated supplies for The Home’s Annual Turkey Drive to ensure The Home’s families as well as families from our parishes receive a Thanksgiving feast this year. Other major contributors were the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos, Peter Condakes Company, Inc., Table Talk Pies, The Rizos Family, Holy Trinity parish in Holyoke, MA as well as many individual Stewards and Parishes across the Metropolis.
