CORFU – Almost 400,000 tourists arrived on the island of Corfu in August via Ioannis Kapodistrias airport, exceeding all precedents in recent years, as there were 2,398 international flights landing in August – 200 more than in August 2019 and 38 more than July 2022.
“Everything indicates that until the end of October we will have over 1,600,000 passenger arrivals from the airport alone, breaking the 2018 record of 1,500,000 arrivals over the summer,” the president of the Corfu Civil Aviation Authority employees’ association Dimitris Roussos said to Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
Roughly 200,000 tourists are expected to land at the airport of Corfu in September and 100,000 at least in October, while 1,330,000 tourists have arrived at the airport so far in 2022.
Ranking first for the number of arrivals are UK nationals, followed by visitors from Germany, Italy, France and Poland.
