WASHINGTON, DC –
Georgetown’s Modern Greek Studies Program hosts an audiovisual presentation and discussion titled “Cyprus Divided: Past Missteps & Future Paths to Unity” with Dr. Andrew Novo who will offer an in-depth look at his new book on “Cyprus: The EOKA Cause: Nationalism and the Failure of Cypriot Enosis”.
The event takes place on Monday, April 27, from 6:30-8 pm, in the Murray Room at Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library, 37th and N Streets, N.W. in Washington, DC.
Following Dr. Novo’s presentation, American Hellenic Institute (AHI) President & CEO Nick Larigakis and Dr. Omer Taspinar of Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and National Defense University will offer expert commentary.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees must present a photo ID at the entrance to Lauinger Library.
Dr. Novo is a Professor of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, Washington, D.C. An expert in ancient and modern European history and strategic studies, Dr. Novo also teaches for the Johns Hopkins University program in Global Security Studies and the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. A regular contributor to the D.C. think -tank circuit, he has presented at the Brookings Institution, the Atlantic Council, the European Institute of the Mediterranean, and Policy Forum Armenia.
