The five-party meeting on the Cyprus issue under the auspices of the UN will take place on March 17 and 18, according to diplomatic sources. According to the same sources, for the Greek and Greek Cypriot side, there is no choice of two states.

Commenting on FM George Gerapetritis’ recent visit to the Middle East and India, the same sources noted that it was necessary because Greece must be present in developments and create vital alliances.

According to the same diplomatic sources, Greece’s role is crucial in mediating in Syria, and they stressed that Greece agrees, under certain conditions, to lift EU sanctions against Damascus.

The same sources pointed out that the date for the Greece-Türkiye High Cooperation Council meeting has not yet been finalized.

Referring to developments with North Macedonia, they noted that formulations that are contrary to the Prespa agreement do not help the good understanding. They also pointed out that Greece wants to help North Macedonia’s EU accession process, but as long as this rhetoric exists, it makes it difficult for Athens to contribute in this direction. The same sources pointed out that the main issue is for North Macedonia to be faithful to its commitments.
