Giorgos Kotsiras welcomed by the Hellenic Community in Philadelphia 

WESTFIELD, NJ – 

On Saturday, November 16, His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey traveled to the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a luncheon organized by the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley in order to welcome the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Hellenic Republic, Giorgos Kotsiras. 

The Deputy Minister was greeted and heard remarks by the President of the Federation, the Hon. Harry Karapalidis, the Consul General of Greece, Ifigenia Kanara, and the Consul General of Cyprus, Michael Firillas. 

In his Archpastoral Address, His Eminence, on behalf of the clergy and faithful, formally welcomed Kotsiras to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey and to the city of Philadelphia, the first capital of our great nation. 

His Eminence expressed his gratitude and appreciation on behalf of all of the faithful to the Deputy Minister for the many great works that Greek Government is doing for the people of the Omogenia, specifically for the people residing in the Metropolis of New Jersey and the Philadelphia area. 

Following the luncheon, His Eminence accompanied Kotsiras on a tour of the historic city of Philadelphia, including a stop at the Liberty Bell.
