Greek Festival at St. Catherine & St. George in Astoria Rescheduled

ASTORIA, NY – GNUSA

The Greek festival at St. Catherine & St. George in Astoria, postponed due to inclement weather, is rescheduled for October 16–18th.

“This is a particularly special time for our community as we approach our 100-year anniversary. For nearly a century, generations of families have come together to preserve our Greek heritage, traditions, faith, and culture while also being an active part of the greater Astoria and Queens community”, noted the Festival Committee of the Hellenic Orthodox Community of Astoria.

“This Festival is an opportunity for us to come together, celebrate that history, and look forward to the future”, the Committee added, inviting the broader community to experience a weekend celebrating Greek culture, community, music, food, and family right in Queens.

“It is a celebration not only of our Greek heritage, but also of the vibrant Astoria community and the many families, students, youth, parishioners, and volunteers who come together to make this event possible”, the Committee concluded.

Following Friday’s opening night, which concludes at 11 p.m., the venue will reopen Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 11 p.m. The weekend wraps up Sunday, Oct. 18, with hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

An agiasmo service will be held on October 16 at 5 pm.
