Greek Independence Celebration Held at Syracuse City Hall

Syracuse City Auditor Alexander Marion hosted on March 25 the Greek Independence Day Celebration and Flag Raising at Syracuse City Hall marking the 204th anniversary of Greek Independence.

“As a Greek American I take great pride in sharing my Hellenic pride with our community and there’s no more special way than with our City Hall flag raising and celebration”, said Syracuse City Auditor Alexander Marion.“I am pleased to join our fellow Greek Americans in celebrating the 204th anniversary of Greek Independence Day”.

The flag raising ceremony was held on the front steps of Syracuse City Hall and included a proclamation presented by Mayor Ben Walsh.

Auditor Alexander Marion, first elected in 2023, is the only Greek American elected official in Syracuse City government. Auditor Marion is a member of AHEPA Syracuse Chapter 37.
