HNDGS Chief General Floros welcomes US Congress delegation

ATHENS – The chief of Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), General Konstantinos Floros, welcomed a delegation of US Congressmen to the National Defence Ministry on Tuesday.

The delegation was headed by US Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID), and included US Senators John Thune (R-SD), Mike Lee (R-UT), John Cornyn (R-TX), and U.S. Representative Russ Fulcher (R-ID), as well as the US Senate’s Secretary for the Minority Robert Duncan. They were accompanied by US Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis.

General Floros emphasized specific security challenges emerging due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, but also due to revisionist trends in the broader region, and the strategic significance of the port cities of Souda and Alexandroupolis in providing important facilities to both American and other allied armed forces.
