Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General Stéphane Dujarric confirmed on Monday that an informal trilateral meeting between the Greek Cypriot and Greek Turkish side in the presence of the secretary general will take place in New York in October.

Following a question by the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), Dujarric said that the specific date will be announced shortly.

The spokesperson said that during recent bilateral meetings in New York, the secretary general invited the leader of the Greek Cypriot Community, Nikos Christodoulides, and the leader of the Turkish Cypriot Community, Ersin Tatar, to an informal trilateral meeting to exchange views on the progress of the Cyprus issue, and both leaders accepted the invitation.
