STATEN ISLAND, NY –
Greek Americans Nicole Malliotakis and Michael Tannousis were formally endorsed by the Staten Island Republican Party (SIGOP) for the 2026 election cycle, as the organization announced a full slate of candidates prepared to engage voters and represent the borough this November.
At a meeting of the SIGOP County Committee, held Thursday, February 12, at the Vanderbilt at South Beach, members overwhelmingly backed a unified team of Republican leaders seeking office at the federal and state levels.
“I am honored to once again receive the Republican nomination in my campaign to continue serving the people of Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn in Congress. Together, we have delivered real results – increasing the SALT deduction, cutting taxes for seniors, tipped workers, and working families, and securing our border and providing critical support for our law enforcement,” said Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis who is running for re‑election in New York’s 11th Congressional District. “As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, I will continue fighting to protect our freedoms, defend our families from the crushing tax burden created by Democrat-controlled city and state government, and make our community safe and affordable”, she added.
“Staten Island is the last bastion of common sense in this city, and our Republican team is the only line of defense against the radical agenda pushing New York to the brink. We have successfully fought back against non-citizen voting and illegal migrant shelters, but the fight is not over”, stated Assemblyman Michael Tannousis, Chairman of the Staten Island Republican Party, who is seeking reelection in New York’s 64th Assembly District.
“I am running to finally end the disastrous bail reform laws that favor criminals over victims, repeal the unfair congestion pricing tax that targets our commuters, and stop the mass exodus of our neighbors to other states. I am proud to lead this full slate of dedicated candidates who are ready to bring down the cost of living and ensure that Staten Island’s best days await”, he added.
