SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco reported earlier on Tuesday that His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco underwent a successful mitral valve replacement surgery today. He will remain in the hospital for the next week and is expected to make a full recovery.
“We are grateful to God for keeping Metropolitan Gerasimos under His watchful care and for the medical team that is providing His Eminence with excellent care”, reads the press statement.
Prior to surgery, Metropolitan Gerasimos received many calls and messages, and he was most appreciative for the outpouring of support and especially for the prayers offered on his behalf.
