The Hellenic Relief Foundation and its partner organization in Greece ΕΛΕΘΣΥ conducted their monthly distribution on May 14th and 15th, at their Athens headquarters, in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society and AHEPA.
Around 220 packages containing pasta, rice, flour, barley, oil, milk, pork, and more, were distributed, primarily to underprivileged families and individual beneficiaries, including 10 packages for the police pension fund received by the group’s president, George Kaliakmanis.
The distribution was coordinated by Maria Siourdi, director of ΕΛΕΘΣΥ, with the assistance of volunteers Yannis Lambrou and Fotis Panagiotakopoulos, and in the presence of Evgenios Bardis from AHEPA Greece, which donated the pork. In addition to the basic food items, the monthly packages were enriched with the pork, vegetables like green beans, peas, and spinach – complements of Barba Stathis – butter provided by Ariston, SOFTEX shoes, among others.

Corporate sponsors supporting this and previous distributions included included the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Barba-Stathis, Alpiland, SOFTEX and AHEPA.
Looking ahead, the Hellenic Relief Foundation will be hosting a dinner dance gala celebrating 15 years since its founding on October 11th at The Graycliff in Moonachie, NJ. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s annual Christmas food donation program, one of its most significant philanthropic efforts.
