NEW YORK, NY –
The United Hellenic American Societies (UHAS) will host their 2024 Greek Independence Day Celebration at Union Square in San Francisco on Sunday, March 24 from 12 – 5 pm.
The event includes live Greek music by George Mylordos and Kymata Band, Greek dance group performances by dancers in authentic costumes, poems, songs and stories honoring Greece’s 1821 heroes and their fight for freedom.
At 2pm the Greek flag will be raised at the top of Westin St. Francis hotel (coinciding with the onset of March 25 in Greece) and the Greek National Anthem will be sung.
The event is free and open to the public.
