ASTORIA – The Board of Directors and the Ionian Medal of Honor Committee of the Chian Federation announced on March 21 that Senator Robert Menendez will be awarded the 3rd Ionian Medal of Honor in recognition of his many years of service to the United States and for the promotion of Greek-American relations.
The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 20, 6:30 PM, at the Hellenic American Cultural Center of the Chian Federation in Astoria.
The Ionian Medal of Honor is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves in their fields and who showcase exceptional leadership in the fields of public service and social progress. The Chian Federation bestowed the Ionian Medal of Honor to only two other worthy individuals: His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew and George P. Livanos, Founder of the Chian Federation.
