DEPTFORD, NJ –
On November 3, over 400 Greek Orthodox Faithful joined His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey for the 14th Annual Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey Delaware Valley Region Ambassador Awards Banquet at the Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford, NJ.
At this beautiful annual banquet individuals from the parishes of the Delaware Valley Region from the categories of Community, Philoptochos, Church Musician, and Youth Advisor, in recognition of their tremendous service and selfless commitment to their local community. Additionally, over 30 GOYAns were honored and recognized by His Eminence as Ambassadors of Faith, Hope, Love and Peace, in appreciation for their amazing talents and contributions to the Orthodox Church. Each of the evening honorees received a special plaque from the Metropolitan with their name inscribed and an icon of the new patron saint of our sacred Metropolis, St. Iakovos of Evia.
Throughout the program, the faithful had the opportunity to hear beautiful words of greetings and congratulations from distinguished individuals of the Metropolis including Vice President of the Metropolis Council Archon H. James Polos, Regional Commander of the Archons Dr. Cary Limberakis, Metropolis Philoptochos President Eleni Constantinides, and event co-chair and Regional Vicar Rev. Protopresbyter George Liacopulos.
In his Archpastoral Address to the banquet attendees, His Eminence began by offering his gratitude and appreciation to the co-chair of the event, V. Rev. Philotheos Tomczewski and Fr. George Liacopulos, as well as to all the regional clergy for their amazing work to ensure the success of this 14th Annual Banquet. His Eminence congratulated and recognized all of the parish honorees and thanked them for their tremendous works and contributions to their parishes. Addressing the Youth Ambassadors, His Eminence expressed his pride and admiration to all of them for their love of our Church and our Hellenic culture, encouraging all of them to continue living their lives according to our faith, growing closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
