The Inaugural Thalia Potamianos Lecture on May 10

NEW YORK, NY – Greek News USA

World-renowned Oxford historian and award-winning author Dr. Peter Frankopan is presenting “Global Greece: A History” for the inaugural Thalia Potamianos Lecture Series on the Impact of Greek Culture hosted by the Gennadius Library of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens on May 10 at PM at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan.

Dr. Peter Frankopan will discuss the role Greece has played, is playing, and will play, not only in its own neighborhood in southeastern Europe but also in other regions, locations, and continents. He will assess what the 21st century has in store for Greece, Greek culture and language, and Europe as a whole in a rapidly changing world.

This lecture is made possible by Phokion Potamianos who named the lecture series in memory of his grandmother, a distinguished doctor, academic and philanthropist.

Glenn D. Lowry, Director of the Museum of Modern Art, will introduce the speaker.
