The special services known as Lesser (Mikro) Minima and Greater (Mega) Minima, (the official announcement of an election) were held at the Ecumenical Patriarchate on January 9.
Following his election on December 2, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan -Elect Sevastianos of Atlanta was received today by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Patriarchal office, were he presented the Mikro Minima.
Shortly after the service of Mega Minima was held at the Cathedral of St. George. In the presence of hierarchs of the Ecumenical Throne, the Great Ecclesiarch Aetios read the official decision of the election followed by the reading and signing of acknowledgement, acceptance and gratitude by the newly elected Bishop.
After the completion of the Greater Minima, Metropolitan – Elect Sevastianos accepted the congratulatory wishes of all present.
His Eminence will be ordained on Saturday, January 25, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Atlanta.
