Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), representing Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn, was endorsed October 8 by the New York City Police Benevolent Association (PBA). PBA President Patrick Hendry, PBA Executive Board members and PBA Delegates stood shoulder to shoulder with Malliotakis at the Staten Island news conference.

The PBA, founded in 1894, represents -according to its website- 47,000 active and retired NYPD Police Officers. The largest police union in New York City, the PBA supports, defends and advocates for the brave men and women of the NYPD.

“We are proud to once again endorse Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis because she always puts public safety and her constituents first”, PBA President Patrick Hendry said, adding that “whenever New York City police officers are facing a challenge, she is first in line to offer her support. Then, she turns that support into action, from securing more funding for the NYPD or fighting to get our 9/11 heroes the treatment they deserve”.

“Nicole delivers for Staten Island and Brooklyn, and we look forward to continuing to work with her to keep every neighborhood safe”, Hendry concluded.

On her part, Congresswoman Malliotakis thanked the men and women of New York City’s Police Benevolent Association and its President Patrick Hendry for their endorsement, saying that “they are our first line of defense against the crime and terrorism and put their lives on the line each day for our city and safety”.

“The PBA has stood alongside me knowing that I will always support law enforcement and fight for the tools and resources they need; including training, equipment, protective gear and counter-terrorism funding. I will always continue my mission to ensure that 9/11 first responders and survivors have the coverage and care they need and deserve from the World Trade Center Health Center healthcare program”, Malliotakis noted.

“In addition, I will never hesitate to stand up to radical politicians who want to defund or handcuff law enforcement. I’m glad the PBA has my back in this election, because I’ll always have theirs”, she concluded.

During her time in Congress, Rep. Malliotakis has helped secure millions of dollars in federal funding for vehicles, K-9 units, forensic equipment, protective gear, cameras, tasers, and rape kits for law enforcement agencies.
