Having traveled with Almighty God, through the spiritual journey of Holy and Great Lent, through Holy and Great Week, witnessing the Passion of the Lord, and with a contrite soul and in prayer in our heart, we saw Him raised up on the Cross, Him suspending the earth in the waters, and being buried in a small, dark tomb, the saving Light for those in the tombs.
But behold, all of us, who hope in His name and with all our souls confessing Him as the true God and Savior of the world, we cry out with one voice and with one mind and say from the Paschal Homily of Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople: “Christ is Risen, and demons have fallen. Christ is Risen, and angels rejoice. Christ is Risen, and life rules. Christ is Risen, and no one dead remains in the tombs. For Christ, having risen from the dead, has become the first of those that slept. To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen”.
