A. Fantis School Launches New PK3 Admissions Pathways Amid Surging Demand

BROOKLYN, NY –

Argyrios Fantis School, the historic Greek Orthodox Day School of Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral in Brooklyn, has announced a major restructuring of its early childhood admissions in response to unprecedented enrollment demand. With applications and open-house attendance reaching new records each year, the school anticipates that nearly all classes from PK3 through 6th grade will be waitlist-only for Fall 2026.

This surge in interest follows a series of milestones for A. Fantis, including recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School, NAEYC accreditation for its early childhood program, the launch of New York City’s only Greek dual-language UPK, and consistently strong placements into many of the city’s most competitive Catholic, independent, and specialized high schools.

To give families a clearer and more secure path into the school, A. Fantis has now made PK3 the primary entry point and introduced a set of structured PK3 admissions pathways. Families who wait until Kindergarten—or later—are increasingly finding that no seats are available.

Beginning with Fall 2026 admissions, the following PK3 pathways are in effect:

PK3 Legacy Pathway: Guarantees a seat through 8th grade for accepted siblings, active church families, and alumni families who remain in good standing.

PK3 Foundational Pathway: For mission-aligned families who demonstrate a strong long-term commitment to A. Fantis and a clear intention to stay through 8th grade. Many Foundational Pathway applicants are referred by deeply involved Fantis families and show strong alignment in their application and interview.

PreK Early Reserve Program: Allows families to apply one year earlier to PreK (for example, applying now for a future Fall).

Accepted Legacy and Foundational Pathway families secure their child’s place at A. Fantis without needing to reapply again until high school.

“With these pathways, we are being honest with families about the reality of demand and at the same time giving them a reliable way to plan for the next decade of their child’s education”, said Theodore Tasoulas, Principal of A. Fantis School. “When a child enters Fantis in PK3 and stays through 8th grade, they experience the full arc of our program: rigorous academics, daily Greek language, formation of character and faith, and preparation for the strongest high school options in New York City. That is what families are asking for, and our admissions model now reflects it”.

More than half of new admissions now come through family referrals, underscoring the tight knit community that has grown around the school.

“We are watching A. Fantis become the standard-bearer of Greek education in New York”, said Rev. Fr.  Evagoras Constantinides, Dean of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Brooklyn.

“Everything at Fantis is rooted in our love for Jesus Christ and our Hellenic heritage, but it is not a closed circle. We welcome students of every background, we create philhellenes, and we form young people who love beauty, virtue, and truth. That is why families are lining up at the door”.

Families intending to enroll at A. Fantis are strongly encouraged to participate in the Early Admissions cycle, as most Kindergarten seats and many upper-grade openings are now awarded during this period.
