Nick Katsoris, founder and president of the Loukoumi Make A Difference Foundation, spoke at the United Nations on September 1, during the Made Impact Summit, sharing the foundation’s story and its commitment to global education, cultural exchange and empowering young people to create positive change.
“To share The Loukoumi Make A Difference Foundation’s story at the UN was truly a full circle moment – from a journey that started 22 years ago with a book about a lamb named “Loukoumi” that travels around the world, meets friends and does good deeds to now be speaking at the UN about global education and cultural exchange”, Katsoris shared in a social media post.
“Today, that story has grown into a global movement focused on inspiring young people to lead with kindness, compassion and service. The Loukoumi Foundation unites more than 150,000 children in 30 countries to make a difference in their communities and the world around them through causes they are passionate about”, he added.
The Made Impact Summit brought together changemakers, leaders and visionaries committed to creating meaningful social impact and building a more equitable, sustainable and peaceful world.
Katsoris also participated in a panel focused on Global Education and Exchange, ratifying Made Impact’s mission that international exchange and education represent one of the world’s strongest long-term strategies for advancing human potential, prosperity and peace.
“Our visit to the United Nations leaves us even more inspired to continue the Loukoumi Foundation’s work of empowering young people to make a difference — one good deed, one connection and one story at a time”, he concluded.
