It was a truly special day for the 3rd‑grade students of the William Spyropoulos School, who presented their Christmas program, A Christmas Pageant, at the Sarantakos Hall of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Flushing on the morning of December 16.

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America attended the performance, warmly applauding the children and speaking to them about the meaning of Christmas.

The students beautifully shared the story of the Nativity of Christ through a play and songs. Guests were welcomed by the school principal, Mary Tzallas, followed by Fr. Aristeidis Garinis, who offered the morning prayer. Both expressed that it was a special blessing for the Spyropoulos School and its students to have His Eminence present for the celebration.

Choir director and Byzantine Music instructor Eleftherios Eleftheriadis led the choir in Christmas hymns and traditional Kalanda, adding to the festive spirit of the morning.

Special thanks were expressed by Mrs. Tzallas to the 3rd -grade teachers Mrs. Orphanides and Mrs. Kenouryiakis and their students for a wonderful performance, as well as, to music teachers Areti Giovanou and Eleutherios Eleutheriadis, for teaching the songs.
