AHEPA Educational Foundation Announces Newly Established Scholarship

Washington, DC—

The establishment of a new scholarship, the Zavaras-Angelidou Scholarship for Greek Studies, by Dr. Katerina Zavaras – Angelidou and the AHEPA Educational Foundation was announced by the Foundation’s Chairman, George Vorkas, on March 11.

“The gift will be added to the value of the AHEPA Educational Foundation portfolio and assist a student on an annual basis to full fill their dream in their field of study”, said Chairman Vorkas, adding that “the AHEPA Educational Foundation prides itself on promoting our youth through support of their educational endeavors”.

AHEPA Supreme President, Savas C. Tsivicos, congratulated Chairman Vorkas and thanked all of the AHEPA members involved, saying “we are very proud that the AHEPA Educational Foundation was able to secure this gift and we look forward to it growing in the years to come”. He also noted that he wants to focus the members’ attention on the value of donating to the AHEPA Educational Foundation.

Since 1959 the Order of AHEPA has raised millions of dollars in scholarship funds. These funds are invested and managed by the AHEPA Board of Trustees and the interest generated is used to fund the AEF’s annual National Scholarship Program.
