AHI Holds Inaugural AHI & AHIF Board of Directors Retreat

Washington, DC-  The American Hellenic Institute hosted the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) and American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) board of directors for its first ever board retreat, in Washington, D.C, October 20-22, 2021.

During the retreat, AHI staff and board members had briefings with the following diplomats and policy influencers: Ambassador of Cyprus to the U.S. Marios Lyssiotis, Ambassador of Greece to the U.S. Alexandra Papadopoulou, Doug Bandow, senior fellow at the Cato Institute; Michael Rubin, resident scholar, American Enterprise Institute; Maria Olson, director of Southern European Affairs, U.S. Department of State; and Captain Prokopios Charitos HN, Naval attaché, who gave the board a defense policy briefing on the Hellenic Armed Forces.

In addition, Ambassador Papadopoulou hosted the board for a dinner at her residence. At the end of the retreat, AHI and AHIF held a board of directors meeting to discuss matters pertinent to the two organizations.
