American Hellenic Institute (AHI) President Nick Larigakis met with Deputy Assistant Secretary Daniel J. Lawton, who oversees Western Central Europe and Southern Europe in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, on November 6, 2025, at the Department of State.

Their discussion centered on current issues affecting U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus and regional matters of mutual interest. President Larigakis underscored AHI’s ongoing commitment to promoting the rule of law and advancing stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Deputy Assistant Secretary Lawton, and his team at the bureau, and exchange views on issues vital to U.S. interests and to the stability of the Eastern Mediterranean”, Larigakis said. “AHI looks forward to continuing a productive dialogue with the Department of State on advancing these priorities”.

The American Hellenic Institute is a nonprofit Greek American public policy center and think tank that works to strengthen relations between the United States and Greece and Cyprus, and within the Greek American community.
