The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce officially inaugurated its branch office AmCham GR-US in Washington D.C. on May 22, aiming in strengthening its physical presence in the United States and marking a new chapter in Greek-American economic relations.
The official inauguration ceremony brought together leading figures of the Greek-American community, U.S. government officials, former and current ambassadors, stakeholders, and business representatives from Greece and the United States, including the leadership of its founding organisation, the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

“This initiative fulfills a longstanding vision of AmCham GR to establish a permanent presence in the United States. It comes at a pivotal time, as U.S.–Greece relations reach an all-time high”, a press statement by AmCham notes adding that the newly established office “will play a vital role in deepening bilateral trade and investment ties, underscoring the growing strategic economic partnership between the two countries”.
The new office aims to support AmCham GR members and other Greek businesses seeking to expand into the U.S. market, while also providing U.S.-based organizations a direct gateway to Greece. Through this expansion, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering economic collaboration and promoting mutual prosperity, connecting businesses to one of Greece’s most influential and trusted business organizations — a proud member of the global American Chambers of Commerce network”, the statement continues.
Cutting the ribbon along with AmCham Greece and AmCham GR-US President Nikolaos Bakatselos was Ambassador of Greece to the United States, Ekaterini Nasika, who stated that “the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce of Greece is taking a giant step into the future today by opening a local branch in the U.S. capital”.
Nikolaos Bakatselos, for his part, called the new office in Washington “a bold step toward enhancing Greek-American relations, strengthening economic diplomacy, and supporting our members on both sides of the Atlantic”.
The new organisation seeks to serve as a permanent base for AmCham GR in the U.S., dynamically and effectively linking the most outward-looking segment of the Greek business community with American partners in the United States — and vice versa.
