Archbishop Elpidophoros Admitted to UCLA Medical Center

LOS ANGELES, CA – On the third day of his pastoral trip to the Metropolis of San Francisco, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros felt unwell and, in an abundance of caution, he was transported to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America announced earlier on Tuesday evening.

“His Eminence is currently undergoing precautionary testing. The doctors have not expressed any immediate concerns and have ruled out COVID19 infection. An update is forthcoming as soon as it is available from his doctors”, according to the announcement.

According to an update news release from GOA, “His Eminence underwent tests and was diagnosed with a minor infection, for which his medical team, led by Dr. Areti Tillou, prescribed antibiotics and rest. His Eminence was released from the hospital and is expected to resume regular activity in the coming days”.
