Archdiocesan Cathedral Presents Holy Trinity Award to Archbishop Elpidophoros

NEW YORK, NY – Greek News USA

The Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity honored Archbishop Elpidophoros of America at its 87th Annual Gala, a sold-out event that took place in a festive atmosphere on June 6 at 583 Park Avenue in Manhattan, celebrating faith, service, and community.

In his welcoming remarks the Dean of the Archdiocesan Cathedral, V. Rev. Archimandrite Chrysostomos Gilbert, thanked everyone for attending and continuing to support our national Cathedral and its ongoing efforts in the Community.

Archdiocesan Cathedral Board of Trustees President Elias Lambiris introduced the honoree, while former Board President, Ted Klingos, served as master of ceremonies.

“I gratefully accept your gracious and generous show of esteem and thank you for your goodness to me. This Cathedral is my home Altar, if you will – my spiritual καθέδρα. As the Seat of my enthronement as Archbishop of America, every aspect of Holy Trinity is of a very personal concern to me”, noted Archbishop Elpidophoros in his remarks as accepting the prestigious Holy Trinity Award.

“The Cathedral Family is a very special one; for it serves the Church in many more ways than the regular parish. For all of this good diakonia, I thank you as well”, His Eminence added.

Among the attendees -honoring Archbishop Elpidophoros- were also H.E. Archbishop Demetrios, formerly of America; Consul of Greece, Petros Dorizas; His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos, His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia, who was celebrating his birthday; Vice President of the Archdiocesan Council John Catsimatidis with his wife, Margo, his predecessor, George Tsantikos and “L-100” Executive Director Paulette Poulos.

A highlight of the celebration was the presence of more than 200 young professionals who held their separate party.
