The second solo art exhibition of the acclaimed Byzantine iconographer, Marianna Afentouli, at the Gallery of the Public Library of Nanuet, closed on June 3 with an art class entitled, “Introduction to Byzantine Iconography” (theory and practice).
It is worth noting that the call of this lecture was answered by an international art-loving public which expressed a particular interest in continuing the lectures in Byzantium Iconography.
The art exhibition by Marianna Afentouli, entitled “Byzantine Art and Symbolism”, was organized by Kristen McInerney, the coordinator of the Adult Programmes of the Nanuet Public Library. The exhibition ran from 1 April 2024 to 31 May 2024.
During the opening of the exhibition, which took place on April 1, the president of the 455th AHEPA “Meteora” Division, West Nyack, New York, Mr. Michael Tribunella, shared a welcome message at the event, co-sponsored the exhibition, and honored Marianna Afentouli with the “International Art Excellence Award For her Outstanding Contribution and Commitment to Traditional Unique Byzantine Iconography Art globally”.
