The Asgata Association of America “Cyprus” held its General Assembly meeting on Sunday, March 23. Following the well -attended meeting, the elections of the new President and Board of Directors were held. Outgoing President Peter Louca thanked everyone for their continuing support and unwavering commitment to the Association of which he was President for over 27 years.
Louca thanked the Executive Committee and Board of Directors and all those that worked with him in the past and asked them to continue to keep the 90 -year-old Association alive.
John Papaioannou, Treasurer, reported that the financial condition of the Association is in an excellent state. At the conclusion of the General Meeting, the elections for the new Board were held.
The newly elected Board Members are: President, John Papaiaonnou, Vice Presidents, Effie Antoniou & Avgie Koutsioumbis, General Secretary, Maria Papatheodorou, Treasurer Felitsa Tsiartas, Recording Secretary, Ariadne Shehas, Board Members Despina Axiotakis, Gregory Eleftheriades, George Georgiou, Chris Neocleous and Joanna Tetro.
The Association is holding its Annual Paschalino Glenti on May 17 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Hicksville, NY.
