Capital Link will host the 9th Annual “Cyprus Shipping Forum” on Tuesday, February 17, at the Columbia Plaza in Limassol, bringing together leading figures from Cyprus’ maritime, energy, and diplomatic sectors. The Forum is held under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry and the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, in cooperation with the Cyprus Union of Shipowners, which serves as Lead Sponsor. The Cyprus Shipping Chamber and other major stakeholders of the island’s maritime cluster are also supporting the event.
The event highlights the significant role of Cyprus as a maritime, energy and logistics hub and as an investment and business destination. The Forum features major international speakers and delegates and local leaders offering an exchange of ideas on critical industry topics, such as developments and trends in the major shipping, financial, and capital markets, issues pertaining to geopolitical and regulatory developments, and technical and commercial fleet management.
Among the speakers is Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis who will deliver a keynote presentation titled “Cyprus Maritime Cluster in the Spotlight: Strength, Resilience & Growth,” followed by a one‑on‑one discussion.
Energy security will be the focus of the next high‑level session, “Advancing Energy Security: The Vertical Corridor and US‑Cyprus Cooperation in the New Energy Landscape.” The discussion will be moderated by Dorothea Ioannou, Chief Executive Officer – American P&I Club and will feature Energy Minister Michael Damianos alongside Dr. Daniel E. Mangis, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia.
As a special segment, the Forum will include the presentation of the Capital Link Lifetime Achievement Award to Acis Montanios, Chairman and CEO of Montanios & Montanios LLC. recognized for his long‑standing contribution to Cyprus’ maritime and legal sectors.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Forum will be chaired by George A. Tsavliris, Principal of Tsavliris Salvage Group, Chairman of CYMEPA, member of the Board of the Cyprus Union of Shipowners, and Honorary Chairman of the Tsavliris Cultural Foundation.
He will deliver the welcoming remarks together with Nicolas Bornozis, President of Capital Link, Inc.
