WASHINGTON, DC –

On May 1, 2025, Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas visited the American Hellenic Institute headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas and the group discussed issues involving U.S. interests in the Republic of Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean region. Included in the discussion was the topic of the 3+1 multilateral cooperation structure between Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, Israel, and the United States.

“I sincerely thank Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas and his colleagues for their time and for the discussion on important developments in the Eastern Mediterranean related to U.S. interests”, Nick Larigakis, AHI President, said. “Importantly, we had the opportunity to brief Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas on the benefits that the American-Hellenic-Israeli Security Act (H.R. 2150) would create for the 3+1 structure if passed. Cooperation between the United States, Greece, the Republic of Cyprus, and Israel, is integral to maintain stability and security in the region”, he added.
