NEW YORK, NY –

Consul General of Greece in Chicago, Manos Koubarakis, traveled recently to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in order to connect with the Greek American community at the local Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.

“It was truly moving to witness the deep love for Greece, the enduring commitment to our heritage, and their efforts to pass on our traditions to the next generation. In every corner of the world, the spirit of Hellenism lives on through our diaspora, and it is a privilege to support and celebrate their achievements”, reads a post by the Consulate on social media.

“During the open discussion with the community, we distributed flyers with information on how to obtain Greek citizenship, details about the Consulate’s “Refresh Your Greek” program, and educational material for the Greek Sunday school, further supporting the community’s efforts to preserve and promote our heritage”, the post adds, thanking Fr. Peter Smith, the presiding priest, and the entire community of the Transfiguration in Sioux Falls, SD, for their warm welcome and hospitality.

“Indeed, the heart of Greece beats strongly wherever Greeks come together”, the post concludes.
