PAWTUCKET, RI –

With solemn hearts the extended family of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket, RI joined family, colleagues and friends to pay a last tribute to Andrew George Tsukatos who passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31 at the age of 88.

A full military honors funeral service took place on Wednesday, February 5, at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket, RI officiated by Rev. Fr. Philip Zymaris.

The U.S. flag was presented to his wife Demetra Tsukatos by U.S. Marines.

Andrew was born in a mountain village called Pragmateftis, in Kynouria, [Arkadia], known for its magnificent views of the Myrtoan Sea, of the eastern coast of Greece. Andrew was known among his friends, loved ones and many loyal customers for his warm kindness and humorous personality. Whether as a parent, friend or business owner, he worked tirelessly in service of others. When he wasn’t working, he could be found at sea fishing or in his yard tending to his garden. He always shared what he caught or grew with his neighbors in the surrounding community. One of his most special qualities was his glowing smile, which will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
