Epirotes Society of Philadelphia Held Annual Tsipourovradia

The Epirotes Society of Philadelphia Omonia held their 18th annual Tsipourovradia on February 7 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby, PA, transporting the large crowd of attendees to Epirus and highlighting the vibrant spirit of the community.

The event was a magical journey into the heart of Greek culture and meze with live music by George Rabos orchestra, with Giorgos Bezanis on clarino, and vocals by Christos Natsis, and Sofia Charalampidou, uniting the Greek community of the area in an unforgettable experience. About 350 people enjoyed the free tsipouro all night.

The Epirotes Society’s charitable work was highlighted during the night with the awarding of a scholarship to college student Demetris Vafiadis. The dance groups Asteria from St. George Cathedral in Philadelphia and Pegasus from St. Demetrios Upper Darby also performed traditional dances during the event.
