On February 16th, the Hellenic Relief Foundation (H.R.F.) and its partner organization in Athens, ΕΛΕΘΣΥ, carried out their monthly food distribution at the Athens headquarters, in collaboration with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society. The packages included pasta, rice, flour, oil, barley, milk, and other essential items. Approximately 135 packages were distributed, primarily to underprivileged families and individual beneficiaries.
This month’s offering was further enriched with vegetables—green beans, peas, and spinach—donated by Barba Stathis, as well as butter provided by Ariston and additional contributions from other supporters. The distribution was coordinated by Ms. Maria Siourdi, with the assistance of volunteers Emy Spanou, Antonia Pantouvaki, Yannis Lambrou, and Fotis Panagiotakopoulos.

Corporate sponsors for this and previous distributions included the N. Konstantopoulou Group, Agrovim, the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, the Food Bank, Loulis Mills, Barba Stathis, Alpiland, and others.
A few days earlier in Astoria, NY, members of the H.R.F. Board of Directors gathered for the traditional cutting of the vasilopita. The lucky coin was found in the piece designated for the organization itself. With this symbolic blessing, the H.R.F.—and by extension its partner organization ΕΛΕΘΣΥ—looks ahead to another productive year supporting those most in need throughout Greece.
