“The Top Ten Summer Destinations for 2025: Where the Sea Still Holds Its Magic” is the title of the new annual list, starring Ios, recently published by the specialized German blog Zauberhaft Reisen. The list features 10 unique regions in Europe that boast the most beautiful beaches.
It notes the exciting parties at night and a relaxed pace of tranquillity and pure bliss during the day, with exotic beaches, sports activities, historical landmarks such as the Tomb of Homer, arts, and exceptional gastronomy. The new Gaitis–Simossi Museum above the Chora is described as “a must-visit if you love the Cyclades and Greece,” the blog writes, adding: “Without a doubt, Ios appeals to young people of all ages.”
According to passenger traffic data for ferry bookings through Ferryhopper, Ios ranked among the top 10 islands most preferred by international tourists for 2024.
“The diversity and the contrasts that define the travel experiences in Ios are what make our island so unique for all ages. And this is precisely the narrative that is being embraced abroad through our targeted initiatives. Ios may be one of the rarest cases of destinations with repeat visitors who keep coming back for decades, each time enjoying different aspects of the island,” stated Antonis Mettos, President of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Ios.
