Israeli FM Lapid: Greece an important ally of Israel

ATHENS – A meeting between Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid was held on Tuesday in Athens, described by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a “constructive discussion on the strategic relationship and on enhancing bilateral cooperation in all areas.”

During their talks, held both in private and with the participation of delegations from the two sides, they also discussed developments in Ukraine, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.

In a post on Twitter after the meeting, Foreign Minister Lapid underlined that Greece is an important ally of Israel.

“As part of my diplomatic visit to Greece, I met with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias. We discussed cooperation between our countries, with an emphasis on security, commerce, and energy. Minister Nikos Dendias and I agreed that we will continue to develop and strengthen this cooperation for the benefit of Israel, Greece, and the region as a whole,” Lapid said.  [ANA-MPA]
