BROOKLYN, NY –

NY Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis announced $42.7 million in federal funding for base operations support services at 200 year old Fort Hamilton with the work expected to be completed by July 2030.

The funding will cover essential infrastructure needs, including grounds maintenance, electrical and plumbing repairs, road work, pest management services, HVAC and boiler maintenance, as well as other improvements to prevent disruptions to the base’s critical operations. This contract is funded through baseline Army accounts authorized under the current Continuing Resolution (CR), which Congress passed and the President signed into law earlier this year to ensure continuity of operations.

“As New York City’s only active-duty Army installation, this funding will support critical infrastructure improvements, reinforcing Fort Hamilton’s role as a vital strategic hub for both the city and our nation”, said Congresswoman Malliotakis. “Not only will this funding help ensure the base can operate efficiently and effectively, but it will also improve quality of life for the service members and their families who live and work there. We’re grateful for Fort Hamilton’s continued presence to our community as well as the service of the men and women assigned there. As the Fort celebrates its bicentennial, this investment will help strengthen its mission and readiness for its next 200 years”.

“The Fort Hamilton Community is grateful for the $42.7 million contract dedicated to base operations for the upkeep and preservation of our historic installation over the next five years,” said Col. Misty Cantwell, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton Commander.

“This money will play a vital role in supporting our mission readiness by ensuring our facilities are equipped to meet the needs of our Service Members, families, and the installation’s workforce. We would like to thank the Congresswoman for her continued support and advocacy for Fort Hamilton and our mission”.
